Distribution: Red Sea, Indo-West Pacific: East Africa, South Africa, Sokotra, Seychelles, Comoros and Madagascar east to Caroline and Mariana Islands, Samoa and Tonga, north to southern Japan, south to New South Wales (Australia) and New Caledonia. Habitat: brackish, marine.
