Holotype: MNHN?. Possible type: MCZ 32741 [ex MNHN] (1). Species epithet correct as grandisquamatus due to masculine gender of genus Barbus. •Synonym of Barbus callensis Valenciennes 1842 -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:236 [ref. 6186]). •Synonym of Luciobarbus callensis (Valenciennes 1842) based on generic placement of callensis. •In the genus Carasobarbus Karaman 1971 -- (Doadrio et al. 2016:8 [ref. 34978]). Current status: Uncertain as Carasobarbus grandisquamatus (Pellegrin 1930). Cyprinidae: Torinae. Distribution: Tensift basin, Morocco. Habitat: freshwater.
