Distribution: Central and northern South America: freshwater Atlantic coastal drainages, from Río Cumboto, Ocumare, Venezuela, to Río Hondo, San Antonio, Belize, including freshwater drainages in the Caribbean islands (British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Cuba). Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
