Distribution: Southern circumglobal; southwestern Atlantic, southern Brazil south to northern Argentina; islands in South Atlantic; southeastern Atlantic: southern Namibia south to Cape of Good Hope (South Africa); islands in southern Indian Ocean; southeastern Indian Ocean, southwestern Pacific: Shark Bay (Western Australia) around southern Australia and Tasmania to northern New South Wales (Australia); New Zealand region north to Kermadec Islands; southeastern Pacific: southern Chile. Habitat: marine.
