Syntypes: BMNH 1901.12.26.26 (1), MRAC 1168 (1). •Valid as Barbus caudovittatus Boulenger 1902 -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:238 [ref. 6186] wrongly with a holotype, De Vos & Thys van den Audenaerde 1990:22 [ref. 17656], De Vos et al. 2001:131 [ref. 26059] as 'Barbus'). •Valid as Labeobarbus caudovittatus (Boulenger 1902) -- (De Weirdt et al. 2007:525 [ref. 30024], Kullander & Roberts 2012:360, 368 [ref. 31751], Banyankimbona et al. 2012:276 [ref. 34113], Vreven et al. 2016:57 [ref. 34168], Beshera et al. 2016:377 [ref. 34343], Borkenhagen 2017:293 [ref. 35158], Skelton 2019:232 [ref. 36564], Kiselkewa et al. 2020:[8] 707 [ref. 38315], Munene et al. 2021:22 [ref. 39283], Fermon et al. 2022:136 [ref. 39448], Decru et al. 2022:19 [ref. 39816]). Current status: Valid as Labeobarbus caudovittatus (Boulenger 1902). Cyprinidae: Torinae. Distribution: Western and central Africa: Gabon south to Angola, east to Tanzania. Habitat: freshwater.
