wildekampi, Aphyosemion Berkenkamp [H. O.] 1973:113, Figs. 3-4 [Aquarienfreund v. 2 (no. 7); ref. 7358] Forest creek in the vicinity of Diang, 40 kilometers west of Bertoua [not correct], eastern Cameroon. Holotype: NMW. Paratypes: ?MRAC 75-34-P-1-3 (3), NMW (1). Berkenkamp's original description of the type locality is incorrect, the original collector states they were caught immediately east of Bertoua, along a road to the airport in a brook (Vlaming 1988:44 [ref. 33465]). An English translation of the description was reprinted in Berkenkamp 1974:6 [ref. 33464]. •Valid as Aphyosemion wildekampi Berkenkamp 1973 -- (Wildekamp et al. 1986:241 [ref. 6198], Wildekamp 1993:293 [ref. 26378], Lazara 2001:32 [ref. 25711], van der Zee et al. 2007:219 [ref. 30034], van der Zee et al. 2018:87 [ref. 35718], Fermon et al. 2022:262 [ref. 39448] possible). Current status: Valid as Aphyosemion wildekampi Berkenkamp 1973. Nothobranchiidae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Central African Republic and Cameroon. Habitat: freshwater.
