Holotype (unique): SIO 72-106. •Valid as Kryptophanaron harveyi Rosenblatt & Montgomery 1976 -- (McCosker & Rosenblatt 1987:159 [ref. 6707], Grove & Lavenberg 1997:273 [ref. 24023]). •Valid as Phthanophaneron harveyi (Rosenblatt & Montgomery 1976) -- (Allen & Robertson 1994:94 [ref. 22193], Kotlyar 1996:218 [ref. 23292], Thomson et al. 2000:57 [ref. 25640], Nelson et al. 2004:109 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:70 [ref. 37547], Page et al. 2013:112 [ref. 32708], Love et al. 2021:101 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:107 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Phthanophaneron harveyi (Rosenblatt & Montgomery 1976). Anomalopidae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern tip of Baja California Sur (Mexico) and Gulf of California (Mexico) endemic. Habitat: marine.
