Paratypes: CAS 27154 (1). •Valid as Sebastes rufinanus Lea & Fitch 1972 -- (Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:149 [ref. 9277], Eitner et al. 1999:91 [ref. 23702], Orr et al. 2000:11 [ref. 24942], Shytko 2001:68 [ref. 26410], Love et al. 2002:254 [ref. 26216], Nelson et al. 2004:116 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:79 [ref. 37547], Butler et al. 2012:100 [ref. 40735], Page et al. 2013:119 [ref. 32708], Kells et al. 2016:150 [ref. 35888], Love et al. 2021:111 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:181 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Sebastes rufinanus Lea & Fitch 1972. Scorpaenidae: Sebastinae. Distribution: Northeastern Pacific: southern California (U.S.A.) endemic. Habitat: marine.
