Paratypes: MNRJ 9850-51 (1, 53). •Valid as Cynolebias myersi Carvalho 1971 -- (Costa 1995:44 [ref. 22097]). •Valid as Nematolebias myersi (Carvalho 1971) -- (Costa 1998:75 [ref. 23792], Lazara 2001:213 [ref. 25711]). •Valid as Simpsonichthys myersi (Carvalho 1971) -- (Costa 1996:130 [ref. 25271], Costa 2002:41 [ref. 26064], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:541 [ref. 27061], Costa 2006:16 [ref. 28620], Costa 2007:8 [ref. 29445]). •Valid as Xenurolebias myersi (Carvalho 1971) -- (Costa & Amorim 2014:355 [ref. 33343], Silva et al. 2020:15 [ref. 37809], Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:55 [ref. 41258]). Current status: Valid as Xenurolebias myersi (Carvalho 1971). Rivulidae: Cynolebiinae. Distribution: South America: seasonal pools between Doce creek and Velha Antônia creek, Espiritu Santo and Bahia (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
