Based in part on Barbus kessleri of Gunther 1896 (Ogowe specimens). Current status: Valid as Enteromius holotaenia (Boulenger 1904). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Western-central Africa: Cameroon south to Angola, including Chad River basin and Congo River basin. Habitat: freshwater.
