patachonica, Plectropoma Jenyns [L.] 1840:11 [The zoology of the voyage of H. M. S. Beagle; ref. 2344] Rio de la Plata mouth (depth 40 fathoms) and Patagonia coast, 38°S, 55°W. Syntypes: BMNH 1917.7.14.34-35 (2), 1917.7.25.4 (1, dry, on wood). Type catalog: Anderson 2018:6 [ref. 36146], Parenti & Randall 2020:7 [ref. 37354]. •Valid as Acanthistius patachonicus (Jenyns 1840) -- (Nakamura in Nakamura et al. 1986:196 [ref. 14235], Moura & Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:75 [ref. 27192], Irigoyen et al. 2008:54 [ref. 29703], Anderson & Heemstra 2012:13 [ref. 31956], Nión et al. 2016:46 [ref. 35565] dated 1842, Anderson 2018:6 [ref. 36146], Parenti & Randall 2020:7 [ref. 37354], Carvalho-Filho 2023:112 [ref. 40480]). Current status: Valid as Acanthistius patachonicus (Jenyns 1840). Anthiadidae. Distribution: Southwestern Atlantic: São Paulo (Brazil) south to Comodoro Rivadavia (Argentina). Habitat: marine.
