australis, Barbus intermedius Banister [K. E.] 1973:75 [Bulletin of the British Museum (Natural History) Zoology v. 26 (no. 1); ref. 7554] Lake Baringo, Kenya. Holotype: BMNH 1932.6.13.191. Paratypes: (58) 1932.6.13.192-200 (9). •Synonym of Barbus intermedius Rüppell 1835, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:255 [ref. 6186]). •Synonym of Labeobarbus intermedius (Rüppell 1835) -- (Tsigenopoulos et al. 2010:853 [ref. 34067], Beshera et al. 2016:377 [ref. 34343]). Current status: Synonym of Labeobarbus intermedius (Rüppell 1835). Cyprinidae: Torinae. Habitat: freshwater.
