Holotype: USNM 78214. Paratypes: CAS-SU 25496 (1); USNM 148886 (2), ?149838 (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:57 [ref. 12291]. Two specimens from station 5118 doubtfully included and therefore not types. Correct spelling of the genus is Coelorinchus. •Valid as Caelorinchus thompsoni Gilbert & Hubbs 1920 -- (Iwamoto 1999:1991 [ref. 24761], Iwamoto in Randall & Lim 2000:595 [ref. 25122]). •Valid as Coelorinchus thompsoni Gilbert & Hubbs 1920 -- (Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:138 [ref. 18936]). Current status: Valid as Coelorinchus thompsoni Gilbert & Hubbs 1920. Macrouridae. Distribution: Western Pacific. Habitat: marine.
