Appeared first in 1940 according to Katafuchi & Nakabo 2007:360 [ref. 29355] with original locality as Aburatsubo, Misaki, Kanagawa Prov., Japan; later in Oshima 1955 [ref. 12467]. Oshima specimens at Yokohama National University were discarded in the 1980s (see Katafuchi & Nakabo 2007:364 [ref. 29355]). •Valid as Ditrema viridis Oshima 1955 -- (Nakabo in Masuda et al. 1984:190 [ref. 6441], Lee & Kim 1996:27 [ref. 25726], Choi et al. 2003:363, 631 [ref. 26218]). •Valid as Ditrema viride Oshima 1955 -- (Nakabo 2000:917 [ref. 25182], Nakabo 2002:917 [ref. 26193]). •Valid as Ditrema viride Oshima 1940 -- (Katafuchi & Nakabo 2007:361 [ref. 29355], Katafuchi et al. 2011:90 [ref. 31141], Kim et al. 2020:147 [ref. 39118]). Current status: Valid as Ditrema viride Oshima 1940. Embiotocidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Japan, Korean Peninsula and Yellow Sea. Habitat: marine.
