Paralectotypes: ?BMNH 1845.10.29.89, ?1860.11.9.78-79; SMF 2716 (1), 4934 (1), 17518 (1, skeleton). Lectotype established by Dor 1984:180 [ref. 29757] if not designated earlier. •Valid as Amphiprion bicinctus Rüppell 1830 -- (Dor 1984:180 [ref. 29757], Allen 1991:236 [ref. 19344], Goren & Dor 1994:49 [ref. 25356], Astakhov 1996:843 [ref. 24669], Chen et al. 1997:143 [ref. 26476] dated 1801, Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S113 [ref. 27377], Bogorodsky & Randall 2018:[16] 254 [ref. 36492], Golani & Fricke 2018:113 [ref. 36273]). Current status: Valid as Amphiprion bicinctus Rüppell 1830. Pomacentridae. Distribution: Red Sea, western Indian Ocean: Chagos Archipelago. Habitat: marine.
