Based on specimens and on literature sources. •Synonym of Chelon labrosus (Risso 1827) -- (Trewavas 1973:569 [ref. 7201], Kottelat 1997:157 [ref. 22952], Thomson 1997:540 [ref. 23428], Harrison 2003:17 [ref. 27341], Fricke et al. 2007:66 [ref. 29533], Harrison 2016:2086 [ref. 34599]). Current status: Synonym of Chelon labrosus (Risso 1827). Mugilidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
