corsula, Mugil Hamilton [F.] 1822:221, 381, Pl. 9 (fig. 97) [An account of the fishes found in the river Ganges; ref. 2031] Most rivers of the Gangetic provinces, and in southern parts of Bengal; has been introduced in some ponds. No types known. •Synonym of Rhinomugil squamipinnis (Swainson 1839) -- (Thomson 1997:499 [ref. 23428]) but see account of Mugil squamipinnis. •Valid as Rhinomugil corsula (Hamilton 1822) -- (Ataur Rahman 1989:273 [ref. 24860], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:897 [ref. 20764], Indra 1991:242 [ref. 24005], Indra 1994:424 [ref. 24015], Sen 1995:588 [ref. 23778], Rema Devi & Raghunathan 1999:159 [ref. 24759], Menon 1999:293 [ref. 24904], Khan 2003:10 [ref. 27710], Yadav 2003:22 [ref. 27711], Ataur Rahman 2003:298 [ref. 31338], Shestha 2008:221 [ref. 29923], Durand et al. 2012:693 [ref. 32366], Ahmed et al. 2013:286 [ref. 32872], Kottelat 2013:282 [ref. 32989], Durand 2016:35 [ref. 35589], Shen & Durand 2016:80 [ref. 35591] as Hamilton 1822).
