Current status: Valid as Chelon tricuspidens (Smith 1935). Mugilidae. Distribution: Southeastern Atlantic, southwestern Indian Ocean: Angola south to Cape of Good Hope (South Africa), then north to southern Mozambique. Habitat: brackish, marine.
