nozawae, Stichaeus Jordan [D. S.] & Snyder [J. O.] 1902:496, Fig. 26 [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 25 (no. 1293); ref. 2516] Otaru, Hokkaido, Japan. Holotype (unique): Fisheries Bureau at Sapporo (whereabouts unknown). The spelling nozawae is acceptable; early workers almost certainly Latinized the name first, and then added an 'e' (Art. 31.1.1) [WNE, 12 Mar. 2012] -- we now suggest using nozawae. •Valid as Stichaeus nozawai Jordan & Snyder 1902 -- (Amaoka & Miki in Masuda et al. 1984:302 [ref. 6441], Nakabo 2000:1048 [ref. 25182], Nakabo 2002:1048 [ref. 26193], Mecklenburg & Sheiko 2004:5 [ref. 27604], Shinohara et al. 2014:269 [ref. 33330], Parin et al. 2014:451 [ref. 33547]). •Valid as Stichaeus nozawae Jordan & Snyder 1902 -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1975:63 [ref. 7348], Yabe in Amaoka et al. 1983:257, 328 [ref. 8379], Lavrova 1990:52 [ref. 20302], Sokolovskaya et al. 1998:12 [ref. 24670], Tohkairin et al. 2015:13 [ref. 35331], Kim et al. 2020:157 [ref. 39118], Dyldin et al. 2021:51 [ref. 38804]). •Valid as Dinogunellus nozawae (Jordan & Snyder 1902) -- (Balanov et al. 2022:[8] [ref. 39152]). Current status: Valid as Dinogunellus nozawae (Jordan & Snyder 1902). Stichaeidae: Stichaeinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: southern Kuril Islands and southern Okhotsk Sea, Hokkaido (Japan), Sea of Japan (Korea, Japan, Russia) and central Honshu (Japan). Habitat: marine.
