Current status: Valid as Pholis nea Peden & Hughes 1984. Pholidae: Pholinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: southern Hokkaido [Pholis ornata reported by authors from Peter the Great Bay and Korean Peninsula (Japan Sea) may be this species]. Habitat: brackish, marine.
