Bruxelles. v. 4 (no. 3B); ref. 12014] Atlantic, 39 miles north of Port Gentil, Gabon, 0°15'S, 8°47'E, depth 290-390 meters. Holotype: IRSNB 363 [or IRSNB 40]. Paratypes: (9) FMNH 73542 (1), IRSNB 364 (3), MRAC 126589-92 (4). Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:16 [ref. 12367], Walschaerts 1987:41 [ref. 20755], Derijst 1991:31 [ref. 21528]. Named after a woman, the correct species epithet would be greyae (ICZN Art. 31.1.2). •Valid as Bembrops greyi Poll 1959 -- (Knapp 1990:896 [ref. 17820], Das & Nelson 1996:30 [ref. 22554], Thompson & Suttkus 1998:966 [ref. 23601], Thompson in Carpenter & De Angelis 2016:2783 [ref. 34618], Reiner 2019:248 [ref. 38139], Fermon et al. 2022:293 [ref. 39448]). Current status: Valid as Bembrops greyi Poll 1959. Bembropidae. Distribution: Eastern Atlantic: Guinea south to Angola, including São Tomé and Principe. Habitat: marine.
