RMNH 4836 is not this species according to Liao et al. 2011:40 [ref. 31295]. •Valid as Parapercis sexfasciata (Temminck & Schlegel 1843) -- (Cantwell 1964:252 [ref. 23974], McCosker 1971:684 [ref. 7692], Okamura in Masuda et al. 1984:290 [ref. 6441], Chen et al. 1997:147 [ref. 26476], Youn 1998:265 [ref. 25741], Nakabo 2000:1063 [ref. 25182], Shimizu 2001:36 [ref. 25799], Shinohara et al. 2001:329 [ref. 25995], Nakabo 2002:1063 [ref. 26193], Choi et al. 2003:383, 646 [ref. 26218] as sexfasciatus, Shinohara et al. 2005:437 [ref. 28370] as sexfasciatus, Liao et al. 2011:32 [ref. 31295], Ho 2014:77 [ref. 33574], Kim et al. 2020:161 [ref. 39118], Sonoyama et al. 2020:96 [ref. 37637]). Current status: Valid as Parapercis sexfasciata (Temminck & Schlegel 1843). Pinguipedidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia, China and Taiwan north to Korea and Japan. Habitat: marine.
