cypriacus, Blennius nigriceps Bath [H.] 1972:343, Figs. 1-4, 7-8 [Senckenbergiana Biologica v. 53 (nos 5/6); ref. 7603] Northwestern Cape Pyla, Cyprus, Mediterranean Sea, under overhanging rocks, depth 0-2 meters. Holotype: HUJ 5772. Paratypes: Bath coll. (1); HUJ 5770-74 (1, 2, 1, 1, 2); SMF 11539 (1), 12231-32 (2, 2). Type catalog: Golani 2006:31-32 [ref. 28840]. •Synonym of Blennius nigriceps Vinciguerra 1883, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Bath 1973:522 [ref. 7212], Bath 1996:91 [ref. 22687]). •Synonym of Lipophrys nigriceps (Vinciguerra 1883), subspecies portmahonis Castanos 1933 -- (Zander in Whitehead et al. 1986:1104 [ref. 13677]). •Synonym of Blennius nigriceps Vinciguerra 1883 -- (Hastings & Springer 2009:8 [ref. 31156]). Current status: Synonym of Microlipophrys nigriceps (Vinciguerra 1883). Blenniidae: Salariinae. Habitat: marine.
