Current status: Valid as Ecsenius nalolo Smith 1959. Blenniidae: Salariinae. Distribution: Central and southern Red Sea; western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Socotra (Yemen), Seychelles, Agalega Islands and Aldabra (Seychelles), Comoros, Madagascar and Saint Brandon's Shoals (Cargados Carajos) east to Maldives and Chagos Archipelago. Former northern Red Sea records are now assigned to E. dentex Springer 1988. Habitat: marine.
