W.] in Chapman & Schultz 1952:514, Fig. 90 [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 102 (3310); ref. 12643] Dammi Island, between Jolo and Tawi Tawi Straits, Philippines, 5°52'12"N, 120°31'00"E, depth 244 fathoms. Holotype: USNM 99379. Paratypes: USNM 111878 (1), 122444 (1). Type catalog: Springer et al. 1991:23 [ref. 18888]. Springer remarks in type catalog that published type locality is erroneous, correct locality is probably Tomahu I., off the west coast of Bouro I., Indonesia; Schultz had stated that he could not remember how he decided on the locality. •Valid as Ecsenius stigmatura Fowler 1952 -- (Springer 1971:30 [ref. 7707], Springer 1988:39 [ref. 6804], Springer 2001:3544 [ref. 26290], Springer & Allen 2001:157 [ref. 25668], Allen & Adrim 2003:54 [ref. 26830], Patzner et al. 2009:453 [ref. 30396], Allen & Erdmann 2012:820 [ref. 31980]). Current status: Valid as Ecsenius stigmatura Fowler 1952. Blenniidae: Salariinae. Distribution: West Pacific: Molucca and West Papua (Indonesia) and Philippines. Habitat: marine.
