Holotype (unique): BMNH 1908.1.20.85. •Synonym of Barbus paludinosus Peters 1852 -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:278 [ref. 6186], Seegers 1996:129 [ref. 23725]). •Synonym of Enteromius paludinosus (Peters 1852) -- (Hayes & Armbruster 2017:354 [ref. 35417]). •Valid as Enteromius akakianus (Boulenger 1911) -- (Englmaier et al. 2020:138 [ref. 37252], Prokofiev et al. 2021:15 [ref. 38739], Englmaier et al. 2024:180 [ref. 41601]). Current status: Valid as Enteromius akakianus (Boulenger 1911). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Distribution: Africa: upper Awash River basin (extirpated?) and central Main Ethiopian Rift, Ethiopia. Habitat: freshwater.
