Paratypes: (numerous) not researched. •Valid as Omobranchus banditus Smith 1959 -- (Springer 1972:13 [ref. 4178], Springer & Gomon 1975:24 [ref. 6083], Springer 1986:750 [ref. 5719], Fricke 1999:487 [ref. 24106], Patzner et al. 2009:457 [ref. 30396], Williams & Springer 2022:369 [ref. 39951]). Current status: Valid as Omobranchus banditus Smith 1959. Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: northern Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa) East Africa, ?Mascarenes (Mauritius). Habitat: marine.
