Lectotype: 51.4 mm specimen below. Paralectotypes: [one of the following] NMW 72675 (1), 77892 (1), 78550 (3). Lectotype selected by Springer 1962:148 [ref. 6500] as the only Steindachner type seen by him, NMV [NMW] without number, 51.4 mm SL. Appeared as name only in Jordan & Evermann 1896:472 [ref. 2442].
