Holotype (unique): BMNH 1906.9.6.12. •Valid as Barbus platyrhinus Boulenger 1900 -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:280 [ref. 6186]). •Valid as Labeobarbus platyrhinus (Boulenger 1900) -- (Yang et al. 2015:112 [ref. 33694], Vreven et al. 2016:67 [ref. 34168]). Current status: Valid as Labeobarbus platyrhinus (Boulenger 1900). Cyprinidae: Torinae. Distribution: Lake Tanganyika and its affluent of Koki River, eastern Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
