Type catalog: Henn 1928:98 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:82 [ref. 12367]. The spelling ijimae is acceptable; early workers almost certainly Latinized the name first, and then added an 'e' (Art. 31.1.1) [WNE, 12 Mar. 2012]. But current authors use Ijimai. •Valid as Neosynchiropus ijimai (Jordan & Thompson 1914) -- (Nakabo in Masuda et al. 1984:343 [ref. 6441], Nakabo 2000:1128 [ref. 25182], Nakabo 2002:1128 [ref. 26193], Iwatsubo & Motomura 2010:65 [ref. 31555], Fricke 2016:10 [ref. 34659], Murase et al. 2023:42 [ref. 40935]). •Valid as Synchiropus ijimai Jordan & Thompson 1914 -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1975:229 [ref. 7348], Fricke 1981:88 [ref. 1499], Fricke 1982:75 [ref. 5432], Fricke 1983:599 [ref. 8349], Fricke 2002:56 [ref. 26547] as ijimae). Current status: Valid as Synchiropus ijimai Jordan & Thompson 1914. Callionymidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Japan. Habitat: marine.
