Current status: Valid as Oxyeleotris urophthalmus (Bleeker 1851). Eleotridae: Butinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia, Oceania: Sundarbans (India), Malaysia, Thailand and Borneo east to Vietnam and the Philippines, and New Guinea. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
