chronixis, Acanthurus Randall [J. E.] 1960:267, Figs. 1-2 [Pacific Science v. 14 (no. 3); ref. 11941] Teawataman Ship Pass, southern side of Kapingamarangi Atoll, 1°02'09"N, 154°45'04"E, 1 mile from shore, Caroline Islands, westrern Pacific, depth to 20 feet. Holotype (unique): CAS-SU 52104. Additional material: CAS-SU 52105 (2, juveniles). Juveniles somewhat tentatively regarded as this species, so they are not regarded as types. •Valid as Acanthurus chronixis Randall 1960 -- (Kishimoto in Masuda et al. 1984:231 [ref. 6441], Myers 1999:269 [ref. 23965], Nakabo 2000:1329 [ref. 25182], Randall 2001:3664 [ref. 26301], Nakabo 2002:1329 [ref. 26193]). Current status: Valid as Acanthurus chronixis Randall 1960. Acanthuridae. Distribution: Western Pacific. Habitat: marine.
