Current status: Valid as Benthodesmus pacificus Parin & Becker 1970. Trichiuridae: Aphanopodinae. Distribution: North Pacific: Kyushu-Palau Ridge and Ryukyu Islands (Japan); British Columbia (Canada) south to central California (U.S.A.). Habitat: marine.
