Current status: Valid as Sarda chiliensis (Cuvier 1832). Scombridae: Scombrinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific. The subspecies chilensis occurs from the Gulf of Guayaquil, Peru, south to Talcahuano and Valdivia Chile; subspecies lineolata occurs from Alaska south to tip of Baja California and Revillagigedo Islands. Habitat: marine.
