Holotype: FAKU 20320. Paratypes: (13) FAKU 19290 (1), 20243-44 (2), 20271-72 (2), 25155-68 (some), ?109617-18 (2). •Probably a synonym of Psenopsis anomala (Temminck & Schlegel 1844) -- (Haedrich 1967:75 [ref. 5357]). •Valid as Psenopsis shojimai Ochiai & Mori 1965 -- (Nakabo in Masuda et al. 1984:234 [ref. 6441], Mohsin & Ambak 1996:535 [ref. 27969], Nakabo 2000:960 [ref. 25182], Nakabo 2002:960 [ref. 26193], Shinohara et al. 2014:273 [ref. 33330], Kimura in Kimura et al. 2018:282 [ref. 36460]). Current status: Valid as Psenopsis shojimai Ochiai & Mori 1965. Centrolophidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Malaysia and northern Vietnam to Japan. Habitat: marine.
