Current status: Valid as Channa marulioides (Bleeker 1851). Channidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Malaya (Malaysia), Sumatra, Bangka and western Kalimantan (Indonesia). IUCN (2020): Least Concern. Habitat: freshwater.
