The spelling saltator is the masculine form of saltatrix, as used in Scomber saltator by Bloch & Schneider 1801:35 [ref. 471], but it is a noun and should be retained in its original form. Based on the 'Skipjack' in manuscript description and 2 specimens sent by A.
