On p. 12 of separate. •Synonym of Varicorhinus capoeta (Güldenstädt 1773), but a valid subspecies -- (Berg 1949:680 [ref. 20661]). •Synonym of Capoeta capoeta (Güldenstädt 1773), but a valid subspecies -- (Bianco & Bănărescu 1982:86 [ref. 8508], see Coad 1981:9 [ref. 22348], Coad 1995:14 [ref. 23608], Bănărescu 1999:387, 395 [ref. 24846], Esmaeili et al. 2010:368 [ref. 33391], Esmaeili et al. 2017:39 [ref. 35254]). •Valid as Capoeta gracilis (Keyserling 1861) -- (Jouladeh-Roudbar et al. 2015:868 [ref. 34062], Zareian et al. 2016:71 [ref. 34282], Zareian et al. 2017:26 [ref. 35636], Esmaeili et al. 2018:19 [ref. 36089], Levin et al. 2019:40 [ref. 36600]). Current status: Valid as Capoeta gracilis (Keyserling 1861). Cyprinidae: Barbinae. Distribution: Zayandehrud basin, Iran. Habitat: freshwater.
