No types known. The spelling squamipennis is perfectly acceptable; Jordan & Eigenmann 1889:410 [ref. 2439] regarded the spelling squamipennis as a misprint; squamipinnis Jordan & Eigenmann is an unjustified emendation (contrary to the discussion in Casatti 2001:145 [ref. 25918]).
