conwaii, Oplegnathus Richardson [J.] 1840:27 [Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 1840 (pt 8, no. 87); ref. 3733] Port Arthur, Tasmania, Australia [in error; known only from South Africa]. Holotype (unique): Haslar Museum, mounted (whereabouts unknown). Also described in Richardson 1844:145, Pl. 7 (fig. 1) [ref. 20295] but as Hoplognathus conwayii; named after a Mr. Conway, so conwaii perhaps should be corrected. •Valid as Oplegnathus conwayi Richardson 1840 -- (Heemstra 1986:632 [ref. 5660], Heemstra & Heemstra 2004:296 [ref. 28072], Heemstra 2022:18 [ref. 39870]). Current status: Valid as Oplegnathus conwayi Richardson 1840. Oplegnathidae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa). Habitat: marine.
