Current status: Valid as Pachypops trifilis (Müller & Troschel 1849). Sciaenidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basins and rivers of the Guianas (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana and Peru). Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
