Holotype (unique): RMNH 5589 (largest of 3). •Valid as Apogon kalosoma Bleeker 1852 -- (Gon 1995:8 [ref. 21822], Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S106 [ref. 27377]). •Valid as Lepidamia kalosoma (Bleeker 1852) -- (Allen & Erdmann 2012:383 [ref. 31980], Mabuchi et al. 2014:199 [ref. 33426], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:79 [ref. 36965], Habib & Islam 2020:Supplementary table p. 13 [ref. 38321], Habib et al. 2021:507 [ref. 38587], Fraser et al. 2022:191 [ref. 39752], Moazzam & Osmany 2023:57 [ref. 40689]). Current status: Valid as Lepidamia kalosoma (Bleeker 1852). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh; western Indonesia and Borneo (Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei) north to Taiwan Habitat: marine.
