Holotype lost (James Maclaine, personal communication, Feb. 2019). •Valid as Amblygobius bynoensis (Richardson 1844) -- (Larson & Williams 1997:367 [ref. 23967], Kuiter 1997:344 [ref. 25488], Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:635 [ref. 25122], Hutchins 2001:42 [ref. 25847], Larson & Murdy 2001:3594 [ref. 26293], Allen & Adrim 2003:56 [ref. 26830], Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S118 [ref. 27377], Adrim et al. 2004:126 [ref. 27715] with distribution change, Hoese & Larson 2006:1621 [ref. 29097], Larson et al. 2013:189 [ref. 32988], Parenti 2021:88 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Amblygobius bynoensis (Richardson 1844). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Andaman Sea and Indonesia east to Philippines, south to Western Australia. Habitat: marine.
