Type catalog: Bauchot 1967:55 [ref. 20734]. The holotype of Lepidoblennius caledonicus Sauvage 1874 is a microdesmid, not a clinid (R. Fricke, unpublished, Sept. 2009). The New Caledonian clinid species is still undescribed. •Valid as Springeratus caledonicus (Sauvage 1874) -- (Hoese 2006:1538 [ref. 28998] in Clinidae, Patzner et al. 2009:468 [ref. 30396] in Clinidae). •Status uncertain; in the family Microdesmidae (not a Springeratus).
