Holotype (unique): CAS (lost in 1906). Boeseman 1964:468 [ref. 20805] mentions a topotype in Leiden from Lockington. •Valid as Scomberomorus concolor (Lockington 1879) -- (Collette & Nauen 1983:64 [ref. 5375], Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:273 [ref. 9277], Collette & Russo 1985:628 [ref. 5221], Collette in Fischer et al. 1995:1537 [ref. 22830], Banford et al. 1999:597 [ref. 23912], Fuller et al. 1999:466 [ref. 25838], Collette et al. 2001:2 [ref. 25629], Collette 2003:11 [ref. 27312], Nelson et al. 2004:176 [ref. 27807], Page et al. 2013:182 [ref. 32708], Kells et al. 2016:316 [ref. 35888]). Current status: Valid as Scomberomorus concolor (Lockington 1879). Scombridae: Scombrinae. Distribution: Eastern tropical Pacific, apparently now confined to the Gulf of California. Habitat: brackish, marine.
