Lectotype selected by Stiassny & Getahun 2007:78 [ref. 29119]. •Valid as Garra makiensis (Boulenger 1904) -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:303 [ref. 6186], Stiassny & Getahun 2007:74 [ref. 29119] incorrectly dated 1903, Habteselassie et al. 2010:50 [ref. 30774], Englmaier et al. 2020:142 [ref. 37887]). Current status: Valid as Garra makiensis (Boulenger 1904). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: Africa: Awash and Meki River basins (north-east Ethiopia). Habitat: freshwater.
