Holotype (unique): USNM 48261. Chriolepis is feminine, so species should be minutilla. •Valid as Chriolepis minutilla Gilbert 1892 -- (Allen & Robertson 1994:260 [ref. 22193] as minutillus, Hoese in Fischer et al. 1995:1134 [ref. 22829] as minutilus, Thomson et al. 2000:244 [ref. 25640] as minutillus, Nelson et al. 2004:170 [ref. 27807] as minutillus, Van Tassell 2011:151 [ref. 31732] as minutillus, Page et al. 2013:175 [ref. 32708] as minutillus, Tornabene et al. 2016:13 [ref. 34435], Parenti 2021:263 [ref. 38603], Page et al. 2023:121 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Chriolepis minutilla Gilbert 1892. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southwestern Gulf of California (Mexico) endemic. IUCN (2010): Data Deficient. Habitat: marine.
