Lectotype: BMNH 1869.11.4.39. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1869.2.8.13 (1) Suru, Abyssinia; 1869.11.4.40-44 (5) Amba; 1872.12.18.3 (1) Abyssinia, 1869.2.8.4-11 (8) near Massowa; MSNM 20 [ex MSNM 4321 and ex BMNH] (1). Type catalog: Conci & Michelangeli 1974:224 [ref. 21560]. Lectotype apparentlyu selected by Stiassny & Getahun 2007:73 [ref. 29119]. •Synonym of Garra quadrimaculata (Rüppell 1835) -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:304 [ref. 6186]). •Valid as Garra blanfordii (Boulenger 1901) -- (Stiassny & Getahun 2007:73 [ref. 29119], Habteselassie et al. 2010:50 [ref. 30774], Moritz et al. 2019:326 [ref. 37196]). Current status: Valid as Garra blanfordii (Boulenger 1901). Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: Eritrea and Ethiopia. Habitat: freshwater.
