Holotype: MNHN 1950-0075. Paratypes: BMNH 1950.5.1.265 (1), IFAN (1). Type catalog: Blanc 1961:269 [ref. 20870]. Apparently named for Ethelyn Trewavas in which case name would be trewavasae, but since no derivation was given the name does not need to be corrected. Correction a year later by Monod (1951) indicates a lapsus, and trewavasae has been accepted. •Valid as Garra trewavasai Monod 1950 -- (as trewavasae Lévêque & Daget 1984:305 [ref. 6186], Lévêque in Lévêque et al. 1990:285 [ref. 21589]).
