R.] 1972:103 [Transactions of the San Diego Society of Natural History v. 17 (no. 8); ref. 2260] Warm Springs Ranch, Independence Valley, just off base of Pequop Mountain, Elko County, Nevada, U.S.A. Holotype: UMMZ 186906. Paratypes: CAS 24567 (61), UMMZ 186518 (285, now 284 plus 3 skeletons). Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:97 [ref. 23395]. •Synonym of Gila bicolor (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies isolata as described -- (Gilbert 1998:97 [ref. 23395]). •Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856), but a valid subspecies isolatus (Hubbs & Miller 1972) -- (Scharpf 2005:41 [ref. 28940]). Current status: Synonym of Siphateles bicolor (Girard 1856). Leuciscidae: Laviniinae. Distribution: Nevada, U.S.A. [subspecies isolata]. Habitat: freshwater.
